Set in the picturesque valley made famous as the home of Postman Pat, this yoga studio is as unique as its location. Built into a steep hillside, the project required careful excavation to carve into the rock face before construction could even begin.

Now sitting proudly on the slope, the building’s striking design combines jet-black larch cladding with four-panel sliding doors that flood the space with light. Inside, the walls are plastered and painted in a calming olive green — a perfect backdrop for relaxation and movement.

Outside, premium Millboard decking with balustrade provides a safe and stylish platform, while a landscaped path of railway sleepers and Lakeland slate gravel winds its way up the garden, creating a dramatic approach to the studio.

The splade-shaped form of the building ensures it blends seamlessly into the hillside while maintaining a highly practical, inviting interior. A challenging build in every sense — but one that now feels perfectly at home in its setting.
